Grain Carriers was established in 1991 by the current directors – SH de Lange & TM Terblanche. We are currently the largest transporter of grain in South Africa and our fleet consists of 85 of our own trucks and 250 sub-contractors. Over 3.5 million tons of grain and products are being transported every year.
Our trucks operate through the whole of South-Africa and Namibia. The new African division, Zamona Logistics, which was established on the 1st of June 2012 will be operating in the Southern parts of Africa e.g. Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Grain Carriers has proven to be one of the best, most reliable and innovative transport companies and definitely the number one in the Grain industry.

Merchants Transport was established on the 1st of April 2006 by the shareholders, Hennie de Lange and Tom
Terblanche, as a separate entity that operates the flat deck division.
Grain Carriers & Merchants Transport does not belong to a holding company or a bigger group of companies, and
the shareholders are also the owners of Unigrain (Grain Trading House), Grain Logistics and Unigrain Commodities.
40% of Unigrain Commodities are owned by Cape Agriculture businesses, among which MKB & Overberg Agri are the largest shareholders.
