Effective fleet management is achieved and maintained by continuously servicing the fleet. At Grain Carriers we do a complete analysis of the unique and current conditions of South Africa’s transport industry, which includes road conditions, accident rates and hijackings. Our fleet consists of more than 450 vehicles.
The following types of vehicles are part of our fleet:
The broad-based economic empowerment framework has been set as a guideline to develop a holistic and integrated strategy. The goal is to ensure that both staff and communities benefit through the implementation of our BEE policy.
The Cafeteria at the drivers’ Hostel and our Driver Training Programme are examples of our dedication and commitment to this strategy.
Risk management can be defined as the identification, assessment and prioritisation of risks followed by coordinated and economical application of resources to minimize, monitor and control the probability and/or impact of unfortunate events.
At Grain Carriers we cover all these bases and are proficient in managing different situations hands-on.
Our vehicles are tracked 24/7. Drivers’ conduct, e.g. speed and road manners, is also monitored.
All loads are covered by Goods-in-transit Insurance.
